“Rerouting to an open future: languaging, participatory technology, and becoming.” A special issue for Language Sciences.

In 2019 Sébastien Lerique invited me to one of the most exciting workshops I’ve participated in. Through the tumult of the pandemic and the rise of gen AI, we’ve been working steadily on this issue, and a new philosophical approach to our mediated world, ever since.

Being an LB in a world of LLMs…

Based on recent talks, I have writing projects in progress dealing with LB-LLM interaction dynamics and with the question of linguistic autonomy as such interactions become habitual.

A number of scholars have drawn on the Linguistic Bodies framework to respond to what LLMs tell us, or don’t, about human language, interaction, and cognition. Get in touch for a reference list.
